How come there's a TFE and PVDF extended delivery

In the last year, the industry has experienced more difficulties than I have seen around my thirty years experience. In the past I have seen sharp price increases, and I have witnessed several shortages, and delivery problems caused by material allocations from plastic resin companies. This is definitely the very first occasion I have seen all these issues at the same time.

PTFE Sheet (TFE) and Kynar both are on allocation.

Both of these resins are in short supply. The  PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene product PTFE (TFE) and PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that's mined in Mongolia and China. The worldwide demand for this mineral has grown significantly, and also the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and incredibly low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is used within a bunch of applications from non-stick fry griddles to ptfe tape for use at home. This specific mineral is actually a key raw materials in the manufacturing of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and lots of refrigerants. This surge in demand bundled with general shortage of raw materials is responsible for a dramatic price increase (almost double during the last year), shortages, and we expect these two factors to stay in affect in the near future.
